 Kristie Wyler Director, Instructor

 Kristie graduated from the University of MichiganDearborn with degrees in
 Communications and Psychology. Since age 4, Kristie has had extensive studio
 training in  Pointe, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical,
Hip Hop, Tap, Musical Theater and Pom.
 She has danced competitively regionally and nationally since age 10 and prior
 to Metro Dance, Kristie implemented and ran a city dance program while
 coaching Junior Varsity and Varsity dance teams. Kristie joined the Metro
 Dance staff in 2005 and has been the Owner/Director since 2006.

 Shannon Barrett -
Instructor

 Shannon has studied numerous forms of dance including tap, jazz, ballet and pointe as well
 as gymnastics and pom and has danced competitively since age 10. In high school
 Shannon was a member of the Varsity Pom Pom team and has worked coaching the
 Westland Stars and Spirits Dance and Cheer Team, Crestwood JV Pom Pom and Cabrini JV
 Pom Pon.

 Dana Cochren - Instructor

 Dana has danced since age 5 at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, under the direction of
 Mary Ellen Cooper.  Her major training is in the Cecchetti Method, which she is certified to
 teach.  Dana has expanded her dance vocabulary through workshops, master classes, and
 courses at Oakland University, where she is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Integrated
 Studies with concentrations in Dance, East Asian Studies, and Religious Studies.  She loves
 teaching and choreographing, and her philosophy in teaching dance is to train not only the
 body, but the mind and the ear, to explore and participate in the art of dance.








 Shannon HambyInstructor

  Shannon is a graduate of Wayne State University’s Maggie Allesee Department of Dance
 where she earned a Bachelor of Science- Dance Performance as well as being awarded the
 department’s talent scholarship.  While at Wayne, Shannon was recognized for her stage
 presence, choreographic ability of stepping “outside of the box,” and asked personally by
 the head of the department to pursue her Pilates certification.  Shannon’s main goal with
 dance is to not only teach aesthetically appealing art, but to make dancers aware of their
 kinesthetic abilities.





Stephanie Plansker– Instructor
Stephanie graduated from the University of North Texas where she earned degrees in both Dance and Literature. She has been teaching for over 20 years and has extensive experience working with children of all ages. Stephanie is certified to teach Pilates mat classes and is qualified to teach the Cecchetti method of Ballet and is a member of their general board. 








 Mimi Whetstone– Instructor
 Mimi has extensive training in Ballet and Ballroom dancing and has worked with renowned
 choreographers from Great Britain, Russia and the United States. She danced 4 years with
 ARTS Performance Company and 5 years at Ballet Oklahoma. Mimi is also a competitive ice
 dancer and a member of the United States Figure Skating National. Mimi was twice named to
 the US Reserve Team and was selected to participate in US Figure Skating's elite High
 Performance Camp at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY.





Rita Wyler– Office Manager
Rita graduated from the University of MichiganDearborn with a degree in Early Childhood Education and comes to Metro Dance with over 10 years teaching experience.
